GRAND JURY TO FILL BOARD OF EDUCATION VACANCY

May 29, 2019 (Dalton) – In accordance with the Georgia Constitution, the Whitfield County Grand Jury is required to appoint a member of to the Whitfield County Board of Education to serve out the remaining term for District 1 which expires December 31, 2020. Any resident of Whitfield County having the following qualifications and an interest in serving on the board may nominate himself or herself for appointment by submitting an application as indicated below.

Qualifications

1. Must be a Citizen of the State of Georgia and a resident of Whitfield County for at least 12 months. Must also be a resident of District 1;

2. Must be at least 21 years of age and eligible to vote; and

3. Must NOT be employed by or serving on a governing board of any private educational body or institution, nor be employed by the Whitfield County Board of Education, the State Department of Education or State Board of Education.
